Has it really been that long???

Saturday morning Adam & I on a wimp decided to get up early & drive down to our alma mater Georgia Southern University in Statesboro for the good ole traditional "blue & white game". This is where the team is split up and they play each other. It is a tradition at GSU and I assume to helps the coaches make some placement decisions. The team looked good and it was a beautiful day for football. We saw a few friendly familiar faces which was nice to catch up briefly.

We stayed through the third quarter and then decided to head on over to campus to see all of the additions and improvements going on. We first stopped at the RAC (my old fave stomping ground). The place has tripled in size - it is amazing. I thought it was nice when I was there just 6 years ago but it is truly a sight. They have the best cardio machines, a 45' climbing wall, a bouldering area, tons of basketball & racquetball courts, several areas for pumping iron, an indoor & outdoor pool and a volleyball court outside. It was insane. I hope the students there now know how nice it is and appreciate it. Next we moved on to the library. It is still a work in progress but it looking very good. It looks nothing like it did when I was there but then again I don't really remember it that much because I didn't make frequent trips. Tons of flat screen computers, cool and trendy seating areas & lighting. Adam tells me that they are rumored to put a Starbucks in there....wow! Our last stop of the day was of course the bookstore. We wanted to buy some sort of fan gear. The bookstore itself hasn't changed but the items they carry have. They have so much more stuff. We were there for over an hour because we couldn't decide what we wanted and we couldn't afford everything. After much deliberation I got a t-shirt, Adam got shorts & we both got new decals for our cars. We are excited!

So, I left thinking how amazed I was by all the changes and that I am so glad I went there. The wonderful memories and friends. I also left thinking....has it really been that long?
