This morning in church we sang yet another great song with amazing lyrics. The words are amazing & while singing them this morning I could feel Christ's spirit moving throughout the place. The sermon was titled "Let Loose" and the pastor spoke on letting Christ loose in our lives. Letting Him 100% control things. To say "ok, God if You are going this way then so am I". I thought I was doing this before but I now I"m not so sure. I think I was asking Him to be a passenger on my "life train" & would just ask for directions from time to time rather than letting Him conduct the entire trip Himself and me just follow with complete obedience & excitement about what He has in store. Complete abandonment....letting Him rule and be in control of all things. It is not like I have any power in myself to do those things anyway so why not?
Here is the song....it is so strong & powerful!! Happy reading....
"In Christ Alone"
Words and Music by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend
"In Christ alone my hope is found; He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid—Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay, light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory, sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death— This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand."

Oh my gosh how awesome. That is one of my all time favorite songs. Our choir did it one Sunday. I love the words, they give me goose pimples because of their strength. Amazing that in all the Christian songs, we pick the same one we like.
