Some Good Advice

I had my 38 weeks checkup today and things seem to be progressing like they should. Dr. Graham told me that if she wasn't here a week from Monday (23rd) that he would induce. He is on call that day which is great so he can deliver her and he thinks I'll definitely be ready. Crazy to think that in about 10 days (or less) I am going to be a mommy.

I've been getting some wonderful advise from friends the last few days to do over these last few days. I'll share them with you....
1. Lay in bed for 5 extra minutes just b/c I can and don't have a baby forcing me up.
2. Go to the store & pick up one thing b/c it might be the last time you go in with just your purse & come out with one item.
3. Eat something delicious without guilt.
4. Watch a TV show beginning to end b/c it will be the last time for a while that I can do that without interruptions.
5. Read a book. It will be the last for a while that isn't about babies.
6. Go out to dinner with my hubby and talk for an hour afterwards. You'll either be paying for a sitter so the clock is ticking or you'll be eating with one hand.
7. Get a pedicure.
8. Put my feet up as much as I can & relax.
9. Go to the movies.

I love all of these and am trying my best to do them all before she arrives. I love my friends and all the support they have given me throughout this wonderful experience in my life.

You will learn very quickly how to do EVERYTHING with one hand - everything!

I canNOT stress enough to take some time for yourself... Baby Hayes is going to add to your life in ways you never imagined, but your life will never be the same! (I never thought something as simple as a 10 minute drive by myself to the post office would be so liberating, haha!)

Again, you are going to be a wonderful mom and I can't wait to meet her and see you in action! :)

Those are all very true! But after a year or two, everything gets easier (that is when people start doing the whole, "oh this is easy, let's have another!! haa haa"). But even when you have to eat with one hand, you look at that baby are are just so thankful that God let you be her mama! It is all worth it! Just try to remember that the sleeplessness ends - at 3am when you are up and feel like you are the ONLY person on earth up, remember that it ends quickly. And you will soon be sleeping in more than 2 hour increments again ;-) You guys are going to have a blast and I can't wait to see pictures of that little angel!
