Marriage - Sacred Covenant
Maybe it is just me but I heard something on the news that has really bothered me the last few days. They said that couples now were buying homes with separate master suites....so they don't have to share a room. WHAT? I consider marriage to be one of the most important relationships, covenants & commitments we ever enter into. I am totally disappointed & saddened by the fact that it seems that more than ever before lots of people are taking marriage so lightly. It is like is doesn't matter - it is a joke! Called me old fashion but I don't care. My marriage is the second most important thing in my life next to my relationship with Christ. God designed marriage and it is very important to Him. It should be important to His children also. Does that mean marriage is easy or that all marriages will last? No. People get divorce everyday for numerous legit reasons....abuse, neglect, adultery &etc. Marriage takes so much work - constant communication, trust, forgiveness, mercy, compassion, grace and of course love. I also think it is very important for a couple to pray together. Cheesy saying but I'll throw it in here anyway. "A couple that prays together - stays together." I'm not sure what the statistics are on this but I don't think it will hurt the relationship in any way so why not? Give it a shot. It is amazing how much closer you feel to each other & to Christ. I want mine and Adam's marriage to mirror Christ's love for His bride. I hope others see that in us!
