Happy St Patrick's Day to all. My husband is from Savannah where parades, green beer and dyed rivers flourish. In the past when we have gone to the parades it has always been a great time. Tons of people everywhere - it is fun just to watch everyone! Adam's dad use to be in the parade (he is a retired firefighter) which was neat too! His brother is in it this year (coast guard reserves). I guess carrying on the tradition in a way. We have decided not to go home to Savannah this year - I saddened a little that we will miss it but it is hard at these times being far away.
I read something interesting online the other day about St Patrick - he was kind of a missionary of sorts. I don't know all of the story but I know he was captured as a young boy and forced into slavery. During those moments he cried out to God for help and became a Christian. Years later after escaping he lead many to Christ and helped end slavery in Ireland. (I hope I didn't totally screw this story up) I think that is the simple version. I found this to be pretty neat!
Anyhoo, happy St. Patty's day to everyone. Enjoy the green day & be safe!
