6 weeks old & dr's checkup

Its been quite a week so far. We started off Monday with Elleri's 5 week checkup with Dr Harbaugh. Everything went well. She weighs a whopping 8 lbs 12 oz now. I can't believe how fast she has grown. We went through a series of questions & she seems to be doing great by his standards. I love Dr Harbaugh so if he says everything is great then I am pleased. She had her second Hep B shot and I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head. I hated watching. I gave her a little infant tylenol to take the edge off and that seemed to help. She is great now.

Tuesday I was suppose to have a hair appt & was going to leave her with Kristin (summer babysitter) for a few hours for the first time. I have to admit, I was a nervous wreck. My appt got cancelled but Kristin came anyway so I could run a few errands & have a little "me" time. I must say that I really needed it. Every good mother needs a little time to herself to regroup & take care of things (including herself). I was gone for less than two hours and was pleased to come home knowing that Kristin did a great job with Elleri. Next week when I start back to work a few days a week will go a lot smoother now I think.

Today we are celebrating E's 6 week birthday. 6 weeks! Where has the time gone? Everyday is a new day and she is growing up so fast. I have to cherish every moment. Something to remember.

Melissa! I HEARD you at our doctor's office on Monday. Parker and I were there for his 2 week check up AND I heard the doctor yell out as y'all were leaving "Elleri, you're growing so big" or something like that! I was like - THAT HAS to be Melissa's girl! I was in the process of feeding Parker in the infant waiting room so I couldn't jump up to see if it was you, but when I just read your blog I was like I KNEW IT! :)

That is so funny. Your dr actually delivered Elleri. He was great - such a blessing.

I'll be praying extra hard for you in the coming week as you go back to work for a few hours a day. I can only imagine how tough that will be. I'm here for you!
