Just when you think things couldn't get any worse or weirder than last week's auditions....they did! Tuesday night in Memphis was only an hour show so we were spared some of the best talent Memphis had to offer.
Two people really stood out to me in Memphis though - stood out in a good way too! The first was the son of a legendary artist - his name was Sundance Head. I kid you not - that is really his name. He had a great voice but I'm interested to see how versatile he will be. The other person was a guy who came in and looked very "different". He was wearing very militant looking clothing and had long stringy hair & a full beard. He had an amazing and unique voice. I think he will go along way in the competition. He is one of those people you want to like because of his diversity. There was of course the greatest singer ever representing the home state of GA - just kidding! He was horrible and the worst part was that he sung "Footloose" and attempted to add his own little dance.
The New York auditions had their few share of weirdo's. One girl tried to beg her way onto Hollywood and I thought Simon was going to kill her and the very last girl...well, let's just say she sounded like she was having a "really" good time. There was one guy towards the end that sounded really good and I am excited to see how far he will go. The judges commented on the fact that he sounded & looked a little like Justin Timberlake. I didn't see it at first but after they said it - I saw what they were talking about. Overall, New York wasn't too bad.
Next week AI heads to Birmingham....
